I'm only adding one banner; not interested in adding more than one. I just tried it again, created new page, added one image for featured banner (add image is working), but cannot add banner...the blue add banner button still grayed out, and I get the same warning when I click on it.

Hi, when you create the banner, you don't need to click the add banner button for it to be saved, you just need to update the page. You should be able to add the banner image and text, then save the page for it to display.

Great theme. Few questions. 1. Does this theme support common Wordpress plugins? 2. Can I show code in a separate block? (similar to stackoverflow) 3. Does this theme support embedding external js scripts in blog article?

    1) any third party plugin should be supported, but they won't be styled to match with the theme. Which plugin(s) were you thinking of? 2) yes, the theme has a grey styled pre HTML tag, the same as stackoverflow uses for snippets of code. 3) Do you mean inside the body content of the blog post? I haven't tried myself, but if you can do that with the default WordPress functionality, then it should work. I haven't modified the output of the post content to remove anything. 4) grey was the color I chose as the default for the theme. You can change the colors of the theme from within the customizer. The options available will allow you to change the color of most elements.

Hey, I recommended this theme for a client and noticed that none of the images are being sized and it's just using the full-size images for everything, even the thumbnails on the listings. Is there any chance of getting this updated? Even if you just put ['sizes']['large'] after the thumbnails it'd make a big difference to those not adding pre-edited content.

Hi, not setting image sizes was something I did on purpose. I wanted the theme to work with any image size or ratio that a user might upload. It wouldn't be difficult to modify the file to include an image size though. If you send me a support message I can explain what you would need to do.

Hello, I've already fixed it for the site I just want to make sure updates won't break it! Thanks for the offer though. Images will still keep their ratio and sizes, It'll just generate a smaller version for the thumbnails as when there's a listing of 5 articles each with a thumbnail at the uploaded resolution of eg. 2000 x 4000 the loading will take quite a while. If you used the sizes function it could scale them down to eg 500 x 1000 and they'd look the same/be the same ratio but the page would load much faster.

Okay, glad you got it sorted on your site. To make sure future updates to the theme don't affect what you've put in place, it would be best to create a child theme. I'll take a look and see what I can do with image sizes.

I just bought this theme to my client, and documentation was very useful, but there's a problem which is not covered anywhere. Their mobile version displays all sidebar items after the posts, where your demo shows only posts.

Hey, thanks for such a quick response. I realised the problem was that you have few different examples on your website :) So when i was looking at your one it was the one without the sidebar. My bad. Now im stuck on banners. How did you insert categories and newsletter between featured content and blog posts? Also few suggestions if you will update it in the future: 1) When creating a video post, featured image should be taken from that iframe code. Cause now you have to printscreen video to add featured image. 2) Featured content is a bit tricky to create, like you can have slideshow or banner, but on your website it shows the posts in that area. Is it something I am missing how to insert posts there or do I have to create title, image and content for every single slideshow? Would love an option where you could just tick the posts you like to be featured and they would come as a top or something like "use this post as a banner" option. P.S. When i was looking for minimal theme i couldnt find anything simple and minimal as your theme is. Great work!

Hi, If you send me a support message I can better answer your question about the banners. I'm not too sure which part you're referring to. 1) This is something I could look at, not sure how difficult that is to do though. 2) You should have the option to either create a custom slide show or use your latest blog posts. If you choose the posts option, it should bring through the featured image and content onto the slide.

Hi, we have problem with listing in category. When we delete "/category/" in URL, listing it is not working. Please check our website www.herbalista.cz. Example: 1/ go to category "Bylinky" in header navigation 2/ scroll down the page to listing link "Další" 3/ it will link you to 404 page If you check URL, you will see only "/bylinky/" (as a category). Your theme automatically add to URL "/category/" before "/bylinky/" and then listing is working. But when we cancel it (because of SEO), listing will be not working. What we have to change in your theme, if we want to have URL address without the word /category/ and functional listing in category page. Thank you. Nechis

Hi, "category" being in the URL is default WordPress and not the theme. That part of the URL is what determines the page is a post category and selects the correct template file. You could modify your site to remove it, but that's not something I can help with.

Hi, we know it. When we add "." in default name of category, it will cause that "/category/" in URL will stop displaying. But also it will cause that listing of post archive will stop working. But listing is defined by your template, am I right? This is the case: 1/ This working right - http://www.herbalista.cz/category/bylinky/page/2/ 2/ This is not working - http://www.herbalista.cz/bylinky/page/2/ We need the 2/ point to be working. "Bylinky" is the name of category, but your theme is adding the word "category" too Is it more clear? Could you help? Thanks. Nechis

  • LucidThemes

Nothing about the URL structure is defined by the theme, that is all core WordPress. The theme simply displays the correct posts when you go to a category page. Your second example won't work without modifying your site because WordPress needs "category" within the URL for the pagination to work. Without that, it would think "Bylinky" is a page and not a category.
